Bourbon Street Bar and Grill in Fullerton returns for spring with the popular ‘Unpretentious Wine Thursday’ series, where new and old friends can gather in cheerful pockets throughout the restaurant, alongside the bar, and outside on a heated wraparound patio to enjoy food and wine pairings from 5:30pm to 8:00pm, April 17, May 15, and June 19, and every third Thursday of subsequent months through 2014.

The $10 per-person event is reflective of new trends in beverages across the nation for “innovation” wines that are good-tasting and easy to drink immediately upon opening.

The only location in Fullerton offering a wine pairing with this accessible approach and at this price point, visitors of the new informal monthly series will enjoy 3-4 wines from a featured vintner with three pairings of hearty, thoughtful, seasonal and local small plates as part of this unique downtown Fullerton experience:

April 17 – Southern Classics paired with J. Lohr Vineyards & Wines

  • Chardonnay with Voodoo Shrimp
  • Sauvignon Blanc with Tomato Bisque and Gouda and Cheddar Parmesan Crusted Grilled Cheese
  • Merlot with Country Fried Steak and Blue Cornmeal Belgian Waffles

May 15 – Cajun Fusion Favorites paired with Root: 1 Wine

  • Sauvignon Blanc with Gorgonzola and Caper Bruschetta
  • Pinot Noir with Shrimp Jambalaya
  • Carmenere with Cajun Penne Pasta
  • Cabernet Sauvignon with Cajun Dog Smothered in Chicken Gumbo
